McGraw-Hill Construction and Engineering News-Record sponsored their second annual conference for women in design, engineering and construction on May 9th and 10th, 2011 entitled Groundbreaking Women in Construction.
Trustees Jane Chmielinski and Porie Saikia-Eapen were on the afternoon panel, The Global Leader as panelist and moderator, respectively. Saikia-Eapen also spoke on Re-Thinking Construction Management. Advisor Jennifer Murphy (Vice-President, Plaza Construction Corporation) moderated a panel about The New Business Leader.
Beverly Willis, FAIA, spoke at a breakout session on the topic Managing Expectations: Setting Benchmarks, Overcoming Disappointments. The panel was led by Carol Frohlinger, Esq., Co-founder of Negotiating Women, Inc. Willis and fellow panelists encouraged attendees to explore personal and professional goals in the context of the current economy and workplace conditions.
