NYBC Launches Council of Women’s Organizations of the Built Environment

The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation is excited to announce our membership in the New York Building Congress and our participation as a charter member of a newly launched Council of Women’s Organizations of the Built Environment, whose first meeting took place on October 5, 2012. The idea and the request of the council was brought to New York Building Congress by the women’s organizations, to which the Congress responded by providing a platform with the Council. The Council is formed to use the Building Congress organizational structure and staff support to help improve cooperation and coordination among the multiple women’s organizations in design, construction and real estate, and to marshal their collective voice and influence for common goals.  Member organizations include those representing women engineers, architects, construction workers, contractors, real estate professionals and transportation experts, among others.
